Whether you're a residential appraiser, commercial specialist, or looking to break into the field, your resume needs to reflect your ability to provide accurate, defensible valuations while highlighting your particular market knowledge.

Resume Structure and Format

Keep your appraiser resume clean and organized — much like a well-prepared appraisal report. Most hiring managers spend just 7.4 seconds scanning your resume initially!

  • Stick to 1-2 pages (one page for under 5 years experience, two pages for seasoned appraisers)
  • Use clear section headings that stand out (Professional Experience, Certifications, etc.)
  • Choose a readable font like Arial, Calibri, or Georgia at 10-12pt size
  • Include plenty of white space to make information digestible
  • Save as a PDF to preserve formatting (unless specifically asked for a Word doc)
